Frequently Asked Questions
Which phones are compatible with Bluetooth hearing aids?
Most modern Bluetooth hearing aids are compatible with both iPhone (iOS 14+) and Android phones (Android 10+). Some models use Made for iPhone (MFi) technology for a direct, low-latency connection. Our team will confirm compatibility with your specific phone at the time of fitting.
Can I stream TV audio through my hearing aids?
Yes. A small TV streaming accessory (sold separately, plugs into the TV's audio output) transmits audio wirelessly to your hearing aids. This is one of the most appreciated features among our patients — you can set the TV to a comfortable volume for others while your aids stream at the perfect level for you.
Does Bluetooth drain the battery faster?
Bluetooth streaming does use more battery than passive listening. Rechargeable Bluetooth hearing aids are recommended for heavy streamers as they offer a full day of use including several hours of streaming on a single overnight charge.
Can I use Bluetooth hearing aids for WhatsApp and video calls?
Yes. When your phone receives any call — WhatsApp, regular calls, Zoom, Google Meet — the audio streams directly to your hearing aids and your voice is picked up by the hearing aid's built-in microphone. No need for earphones.
Is Bluetooth safe for hearing aids?
Yes. Hearing aid Bluetooth uses very low power (Bluetooth Low Energy) and has been used safely for over a decade. All models we carry are tested and certified for safe use.
